TV funnyman James Corden will be awarded an OBE by the Princess Royal today for his services to drama.
The Gavin & Stacey star has become one of the leading faces of British entertainment in recent years, as well as performing sterling work for charity.
The Buckingham Palace ceremony will also see former Liberal Democrat leader Lord Ashdown become a Companion of Honour, while television presenter and campaigner Esther Rantzen will be made a Dame.
Corden, 36, has established himself at the forefront of the entertainment industry and earned international acclaim in 2011 for his performance in comic play One Man, Two Guvnors, which was a success in the West End and on Broadway.
The comic and actor has cracked America and took charge of The Late Late Show on CBS in March.
He is also known for his charity work with Comic Relief and Sport Relief.
When his OBE was announced, Corden said he was "thrilled, overwhelmed and honoured", adding: "My family are very proud. My mum is already fretting about what to wear."
The Companion of Honour - which will be given to Lord Ashdown - is limited to just 65 people in addition to the Queen, and is awarded for services of national importance.
The current list of members includes physicist Professor Stephen Hawking, naturalist Sir David Attenborough and painter David Hockney.
Lord Ashdown, who led the Lib Dems from 1988 to 1999, is to be honoured for public and political service.
The 74-year-old former Royal Marine was High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2007 and is president of Unicef UK.
ChildLine founder Rantzen, 75, said she was "thrilled" when she was told she was to be made a Dame.
She is to be honoured for services to children and older people - the latter for founding The Silver Line helpline.
She has also presented a host of television programmes and has received the Royal Television Society's special judges' award for journalism.
