Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has criticised the BBC ahead of tonight's final episode of the show on BBC Two.
Clarkson tweeted: "Strange that BBC News is talking down the last Top Gear tonight. Do they not want big ratings for some reason?"
His co-presenter, Richard Hammond, replied asking: "Oh, is it on? Always liked that."
The third of their presenting trio, James May, didn't join the conversation on Social Media, instead tweeting that tonight he thinks he'll attend "a pleasant Sunday evening recital by AC/DC".
Clarkson has been vocal about the final show, calling it "cobbled together" in a column he wrote for The Sun newspaper.
"BBC Two is screening an edition of Top Gear cobbled together from two films that were made before I was fired," he wrote, "One of them is quite good."
The final instalment is a 75-minute special that has been compiled of footage taken before Clarkson was suspended, following an altercation over food with producer Oisin Tymon.
The BBC later announced that it would not be renewing his contract for the show.
The show will return with new host, Chris Evans, who announced he was looking for hosts to join him on the show.
Evans called on Top Gear fans to send in short audition clips for a job on the show ahead of its return next year.
