Who Are You? Rockers Storm Glasto

The Who closed the final day of Glastonbury Festival in true rock and roll style, trashing the stage and swearing at backstage staff.

The 60s band fronted by guitarist Pete Townshend and lead singer Roger Daltry stormed the stage opening with their signature tune Who Are You? followed by favourites My Generation and Baba O'Riley.

Townshend repeatedly complained about the sound, shouting to backstage "ít's f*****g crap", before Daltry pulled over a plastic screen and knocked over microphones so they could hear the drums better.

The rockers made a swipe at Saturday's headliner rapper Kanye West, telling the crowd, "we're going to make a big f*****g rebellion; yeah, who's the biggest rock star in the world?" before Townshend gave an impressive guitar solo.

During his set, West had declared that he was "the biggest rock star in the world".

Earlier yesterday, Lionel Richie pulled in huge crowds with his upbeat show, which had the audience singing and dancing along to his hit songs.

The soul singer grinned in astonishment, telling the audience: "This is unbelievable. I'm intimidated because you know the words better than I do."

Many in the crowd were wearing hand-made t-shirts and flags in his honour, erupting during his hits Dancing On The Ceiling, Hello and All Night Long.

He took to the stage just as the sun came out and told the audience: "It has been a long time coming but I finally made it to Glastonbury."
