The US rapper blamed “travel issues”, after she failed to appear for her scheduled slot on stage in Finsbury Park on Sunday (5 July) night, eventually arriving two and a half hours late.

Nicki was due to perform between 7pm and 8pm, ahead of David Guetta’s headline slot at 8.40pm.

A message flashed up on the big screens, telling the crowd: “Special announcement: we are told that she was due to be speeding down the M1 from Luton Airport as we speak but we have lost contact with her, we are hoping that she will be here soon."

Nicki eventually made it to the venue at 9.30pm during David’s set, where she then joined him on stage to perform their collaboration ‘Hey Mama’.

She then cut short his slot, as she went on to play her other hits ‘Feeling Myself’, ‘Anaconda’ and ‘Super Bass’.

Nicki had been flying in to the UK after playing at a festival in Denmark the previous night, and told the crowd of her travel nightmare: "Our plane couldn't get out because of the weather but I want to tell you how much I love y'all. I want to tell you how much I appreciate you guys for showing up from day one."

However, her apology was not enough to make it up to some fans, who took to Twitter to slam the tardy star:

The three-day festival also saw performances from Drake, Avicii and Nero.
