A British woman who was bungee jumping in Spain died as her aunt watched, according to reports.
The 23-year-old from London is reported to have died yesterday afternoon in Lanjaron, Granada.
The Foreign Office confirmed it is investigating the reports.
A spokesman for the Guardia Civil in Granada told the Mail Online: "The dead woman is a British 23-year-old from London.
"She was staying with her aunt for a few days and that relative was present when the tragedy occurred."
He said it was "too early to draw any conclusions" about the circumstances of the death.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are urgently looking into reports of the death of a British National in Spain and stand ready to provide consular assistance".
Local news site the Seaside Gazette reported that the woman's bungee rope was intact and that she had slammed into the side of the bridge from which she jumped.
