House Blaze Pair Rescued By Firefighters

Two people have been treated in hospital after being rescued from a house fire.

A man and woman in their 50s were in the home in Sheffield when the blaze started at around 10.30pm yesterday, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

One was rescued from an upstairs bedroom and treated for "severe smoke inhalation" while the other was led to safety by firefighters.

The fire service said both were taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire in Wood Lane, in the Stannington area of the city, is being investigated.
