Cilla Black Dead: Tributes Pour In For Showbiz Legend, Following Her Death, At The Age Of 72

Stars Pay Tribute To 'Inspirational' And 'Legendary' Cilla Black

A host of stars from all areas of the entertainment industry have been paying tribute to Cilla Black, following the news of the showbiz legend’s shock death.

The Spanish police confirmed on Sunday that Cilla had died overnight, at the age of 72, while holidaying at her home in the Costa del Sol.

Her celebrity friends and former colleagues have been paying their respects on Twitter, as well as sharing their own personal memories of the veteran entertainer.

Holly Willoughby, who took over from Cilla on 'Surprise, Surprise', when the show returned to our screens in 2012, was among the first famous faces to comment on the sad news, describing Cilla as "an incredible lady" and "one of her heroes".

A spokesperson for the Spanish police announced on Sunday: “I can confirm the death of British national Priscilla White, aged 72.

“We are still awaiting autopsy results but everything at this stage is pointing towards her death being the result of natural causes.”

Best known for her work in the world of television, thanks to having fronted the likes of ‘Blind Date’ and ‘Surprise, Surprise’, Cilla started out in the 1960s a singer.

She topped the UK singles chart a number of times, and had a string of hits to her name, including ‘Step Inside Love’, ‘Alfie’ and ‘Anyone Had A Heart’, which became one of her signature tunes.
