'EastEnders' Star Samantha Womack Calls Police After Stalker Sets Up Camp Outside Her Home

EastEnders’ star Samantha Womack has called in police, after being left terrified by a stalker who pitched up camp outside her family home.

The actress, who plays Ronnie Mitchell on the BBC One soap, also received a “weird” love letter from the crazed fan, who has been sleeping outside the Bedfordshire home she shares with husband Mark, and their two children.

The Sun reports that police were called over last Thursday (10 September), as Sam became increasingly worried about her family’s safety, as Mark is also believed to have been subject to threats.

A source told the paper: “This stalker has become completely obsessed with her and has been sleeping outside her house so that he can spy on her.

“The family are terrified that he will try to get into the grounds of the property or even the house.

"Sam has also received a weird love letter from this oddball that really disturbed her."

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman added: “A report was made on Thursday relating to incidents of suspected stalking at a property.

"An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.”

‘EastEnders’ bosses are also reported to have increased on-set security, while cast and crew have also been told to look out for anyone suspicious hanging around the show’s studios in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

HuffPost UK has contacted an ‘EastEnders’ spokesperson for comment.
