The ‘Sherlock’ Christmas episode will be a standalone special, set in Victorian Britain, with a full, new series to follow in 2016.
Fans have already been given a glimpse at Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in character, though it’s hoped that the new trailer will reveal details of the episode's plot.
‘Sherlock’ showrunner Steven Moffat has previously teased fans with hints about the show, revealing that things are set to take a “darker” turn.
See the teaser trailer above, ahead of the full trailer at 9pm tonight (Wednesday 7 October).
