Sheer, sparkle and shine were the order of the day at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of The Year Awards, with Little Mix's Perrie Edwards, Myleene Klass and Caroline Flack showcasing different ways to work the trends.
Myleene Klass, Perrie Edwards and Caroline Flack prove there's more than one way to nail the sheer trend
Edwards' elegant take on a string vest was the most talked about look of the evening on Wednesday, 3 December. She paired her shimmering silver floor-length gown with high waisted underwear and a sharp high pony.
Two of Edwards' Little Mix bandmates also went for sheer numbers, with Jade Thirlwall in a structured white two-piece and Leigh-Anne cominging netting with glitter.
Little Mix got into the spirit of the Ultimate Women event by striking some girl power poses with Emma Bunton
Another trend that dominated the red carpet was magpie-pleasing sparkly numbers as with Denise Van Outen opting for sequins, Rebel Wilson in glitter and Alesha Dixon shining in satin.
Fleur East meanwhile, gave us a lesson in how to stand out in a party in her bright yellow suit.
