Gemma Collins Removed From Celebrity Big Brother House After Cutting Finger

Gemma Collins has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house and taken to hospital after cutting her finger "through to the bone".

In a preview of Sunday night's show, the The Only Way Is Essex star was tasked with peeling some potatoes by former X-Factor hopeful Christopher as she tried to help the others "have a better day".

But in doing so she cut her finger, declaring: "It's through to the bone." After being seen by a medic in the diary room she was taken to hospital for stitches.

During Sunday's programme, before the potato peeling incident, Big Brother gathered all the housemates on the sofas to announce that alongside her immunity from eviction - Collins had won a special prize - a professional blow dry.

She told her fellow celebrities: "Guys, I know the right thing to do would be to not have this blow dry. But you know the situation with me hair; it's something that really means a lot to me."

Her decision meant that the rest of the stars had to go without hot water and hair appliances for the rest of the day.

And it was after her special treatment which made her "feel like a brand new person", that Collins had an accident with the knife.

The hospital visit marks the second time the outspoken blonde has left the confines of the Big Brother walls in a matter of days.

On Saturday's show, after an argument between Hollyoaks actress, Stephanie Davis, and EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook over a pair of knickers, Collins and Westbrook decided to pack their bags after things got nasty.

In a bid for freedom the two women burst through the fire exit in the garden and into the camera runs. Later, they returned to the house and after talking to Big Brother, decided to remain as contestants.

Collins explained why they left and launched their temporary escape.

"Things have been said the last couple of days, which you might not be aware of, that are hurtful to her (Westbrook) and hurtful to me. We're not made of steel. We're not made of rock. It's hurtful," she said.
