Fresh off the back of Adele’s infamous ride around the block and Chris Martin’s recent tribute to the late David Bowie, Sir Elton John has become the latest musical guest to join James for a special edition of his Carpool Karaoke sketch.
Sir Elton will be appearing alongside James when the sketch airs in full on ‘The Late, Late Show’ on Sunday night, but until then we’ve got this newly-released trailer to tide us over, showing the two performing the classic ballad, ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’.
Elton John and James Corden
Needless to say, the musical legend sounds note perfect, but James’s harmonies are also seriously on point.
The sketch will air in full on US TV on Sunday night after the Super Bowl, which will see Coldplay taking to the stage during the halftime show, following in the footsteps of last year’s performer, Katy Perry.
Sir Elton is the latest in a long list of greats to have sat in the passenger seat with James, which already includes Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart and Stevie Wonder.
Many contemporary stars have also taken part in the recurring sketch, including two appearances from Justin Bieber, and One Direction, who filmed the skit shortly before going on a hiatus.
