Beyoncé is having quite the week and after surprising fans with new track ‘Formation’ - which came with a superbly executed, politically charged video - and stealing the show at the Super Bowl Halftime show, Queen Bey has announced a world tour.

The star will hit the road in April, before performing in the UK and Ireland in June and July respectively.

Beyoncé thrilled crowds and millions of TV viewers

The Formation World Tour even comes with its own trailer, which you can watch above, and the announcement also suggest we can expect more new music from Bey in the coming months.

The UK and Ireland dates are as follows:

  • Sunderland, Stadium of Light ( 28 June)
  • Cardiff, Millennium Stadium (30 June)
  • London, Wembley Stadium (2 July)
  • Manchester, Emirates Old Trafford (5 July)
  • Glasgow, Hampden Park (7 July)
  • Dublin, Croke Park (9 July)

Beyoncé managed to overshadow Coldplay at their own Super Bowl show on Sunday night, with her performance of ‘Formation’, which had debuted online just hours earlier.

The track and its video won instant praise from fans and critics, including The Daily Beast’s Kevin Fallon, who hailed it as “a fiery black power anthem and call to arms.”

Much has also been said about the release’s timing, with The New York Times’ critic writing: “I think she wants us to know that even though she's headlining a mainstream event like the Super Bowl, she has opinions and isn't afraid to share them, nor is she afraid to do it on a national and global scale."
