Four Killed In Good Friday Collision Between Two Vehicles

Four people have died following a collision between two cars on Good Friday, police said.

The two-vehicle crash happened at about 11.40am on the A470 between Rhayader and the Llangurig roundabout in Powys.

A driver and a passenger in a silver Vauxhall Agila and two passengers in a red Seat Leon died at the scene.

The driver of the Seat Leon was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police attended a two vehicle road traffic accident which occurred at approximately 11.40 on March 25.

"Sadly, the driver and passenger of a silver Vauxhall Agila and two passengers from a red Seat Leon were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

"The driver of the red Seat Leon was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"He is described as being in a stable condition.

"The road was closed while specialist officers conducted a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the collision.

"Dyfed-Powys family liaison officers are supporting the families of both vehicles."

Witnesses are asked to contact the force on 101.
