Big Brother star turned wannabe politician Glyn Wise says he has proved a hit with voters while out on the campaign trail.
Wise, who came second in the 2006 edition of the reality show, is standing as Plaid Cymru's Welsh Assembly candidate in Cardiff Central.
The 28-year-old said he has enjoyed his first taste of running for office – and reckons he has surprised a few people along the way.
“I've had a fantastic response while out door-knocking – the majority of people have really warmed to Plaid Cymru's message,” he added.
“I'm an honest and straight-talking person – I don't speak in jargon and that has really helped on the doorstep.
“I've had a lot of people say they are going to vote Plaid for the first time, which means a great deal to me.
“It's all been good apart from the person who tried to throw boiling hot tea over me!”
Wise also insisted he had changed a great deal from the cheeky chappy who made TV viewers laugh with his antics on the Channel 4 show – which saw him learn how to boil an egg for the first time at the age of 18.
However, the former lifeguard admits he faces an uphill battle to win the Cardiff Central seat – given that it has always been a close contest between Labour and Liberal Democrats.
“I think we will probably come third in Cardiff Central but our support will increase there,” he said.
“I won't give up though and I would have another crack at it.
“(Plaid leader) Leanne Wood didn't win the first elections she contested – nor did the SNP's Nicola Sturgeon.
“I'm passionate about my country and want the best for it – as does Plaid.”
Wise is not be the only Big Brother star in the constituency either – 2015 finalist Joel Williams, 20, stood for the Conservatives.
Williams believed the Tories could stand a chance of winning the seat if they took votes off the Lib Dems.
