Naga Munchetty is the ninth celebrity contestant to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC Breakfast presenter joins a line-up which already includes ex-shadow chancellor Ed Balls, former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, former Eternal member Louise Redknapp, singer Will Young, TV presenter Laura Whitmore, radio DJ Melvin Odoom, model Daisy Lowe and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.
Former Strictly contestant Carol Kirkwood revealed the news on BBC Breakfast.
Munchetty admitted she is "petrified" at taking on Strictly.
The 41-year-old journalist is concerned about her dancing ability after she fell over in her wedding dress 12 years ago.
She revealed: "We decided we would learn a proper dance. It didn't go well ... I actually fell over in a big puff of wedding dress!"
But she added: "I've always enjoyed watching Strictly. It's a brilliant show and it's lots of fun."
After announcing the news, Kirkwood provided her with Strictly essentials including sparkly plasters for the blisters.
Munchetty joined the BBC as the presenter of Working Lunch, and became a full-time member of the BBC Breakfast team in 2014.
She is also a keen golfer, playing up to five times a week.
BBC Breakfast has a long history of Strictly Come Dancing success.
Munchetty will follow in the footsteps of Bill Turnbull, Chris Hollins, Susanna Reid and Carol Kirkwood.
Sports presenter Hollins won the 2009 series, while Reid reached the final in 2011 before her move to ITV.
Weather presenter Kirkwood won public praise despite finishing in 10th place in 2015.
"I've known Chris Hollins and will never forget his wonderful Charleston," Munchetty said.
"There's Susanna obviously – she was amazing. I loved her dramatic dances. Then there's Carol. She completely embraced it."
But it was Countryfile presenter Anita Rani who inspired Munchetty to put on her dancing shoes after she reached the semi-final last year.
She explained: "Anita was my inspiration for doing this – Strictly was completely out of her comfort zone and she really went for it. She gave it her all."
Munchetty is also planning to throw herself in to training.
"The only way I think I can really embarrass myself is not giving 100%," she said.
"If you're going to do something – always be the best at it. Always do your best."
