A man is under arrest after two police officers suffered serious injuries in a road crash.
The officers were hurt when their marked police car was in collision with a black Mercedes c200 at around 3.30am on Thursday on Liverpool Road in Salford, Greater Manchester.
They were taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 25-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Local road diversions were put in place.
