A murder investigation is under way after the death of a five-year-old boy.
The youngster was taken to hospital with critical head injuries, hours after an alleged incident involving a man at a park in south-east London on Sunday, but he died on Tuesday.
Marvin Iheanacho, 38, from Wesley Avenue, Hounslow, was arrested on Monday and appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court the following day charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on December 20.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the alleged incident and will be at the park in Catford on Sunday in an effort to find witnesses.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Lynes said: "We are appealing to find any witnesses who were in, or near to, Mountsfield Park, Catford between approximately 5.15pm and 6.45pm on Sunday 20 November and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything regarding an incident involving a man in the company of a child."
