72-Year-Old Charged With Firearms Offence After Man Shot Dead

A pensioner arrested after a man was shot dead has been charged with a firearms offence, police said.

Reuben Gregory was initially held on suspicion of murder after Wayne Digby, 48, died during an alleged break-in at the caravan the 72-year-old shared with his sister Kathleen on June 12.

Police found Mr Digby’s body after they were called to the secluded site next to Slough’s Colnbrook Bypass, a short distance from Heathrow Airport, in the early hours of the morning.

A post-mortem examination later revealed he died from a shotgun wound to the abdomen, Thames Valley Police said at the time.

Gregory has been charged with having a shotgun without a certificate, the force said on Monday.

He is due to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court on September 18.
