There’s no red carpet event quite like the Oscars.
Once a year, the entertainment industry’s elite arrive at the Academy Awards ceremony in their finest attire. It’s a red carpet where celebrities are less encouraged to take fashion risks, and more likely to hark back to the days of old Hollywood and all its glitz and glamour.
Many actors and actresses, like Mary J. Blige, Laura Dern, Margot Robbie and Timothée Chalamet, wore white on the red carpet. The trend made those who wore a pop of color stand out even more (looking at you, Viola Davis and Jennifer Garner). It was a stark contrast to the outfits at the Golden Globes, where stars primarily wore black to show their solidarity with the Me Too movement.
Olympians Adam Rippon, Mirai Nagasu and Linsdey Vonn also attended Sunday evening’s star-studded affair. Rippon caused quite a stir with his S&M-inspired tuxedo with a harness, while Nagasu whipped out her bronze medal on the carpet like it was no big deal.
Take a look at the gorgeous looks below. We’ll be updating throughout the night:
