Britain... Not the sunniest of places and probably not the first place you think of when we say decadent outdoor living. However, you are able to create pure luxury outdoor living, by purchasing the most outstanding feature pieces of furniture that will make you garden the envy to all of your friends and family.

There is such a wide variety of outdoor garden furniture now available, made from steel, aluminium and wicker, and you can find some unique pieces of feature furniture at some great prices. One thing you might worry about is the British summer, where all it does is rain, but that is why you must prepare for all weather types. In order to have the most decadent living space outdoors, we suggest investing in the following:

• Firstly, you will need an area to help you host, somewhere to sit and enjoy fine wine and food, whether this is just for you, or for when you have friends over. Check out some of the finest bistro garden furniture, made from interwoven steel frames and even wicker, perfect for that afternoon tea party. There are some beautiful modern vintage sets, find the colour that suits your garden, and even search for those which are distressed to create that original feel. Distressed furniture, which can galvanise through time will become timeless and will never fail to impress.

• Forget hanging baskets! Invest in a Nestrest lounger. These are not only stunning to look at, helping you achieve a modern summer getaway look for your garden, but they are extremely cosy and comfortable. The Nestrest is a hanging and standing lounger that is perfect for relaxing with a book, meditation, or just enjoying the fresh air under a private and protective nesting area... They were inspired a birds nest you know! Not sure about the Nestrest, then look at other free hanging swing chairs.

• Ever wanted to sleep on your bed, but out in the sunshine? If you love your bed as much as we do, you will want... No, need to invest in a daybed. These are also more sociable than the Nestrest, due to the fact they usually large enough for at least two people. These come in a variety of weatherproof wicker and often have an optional canopy to keep you shaded if you so wish. These daybeds come in an array of shapes and styles, from round or spherical to square.

• Nothing says decadence than a chaise longue. Another type of furniture for you to lounge on... But that's what outdoor living is all about, is it not?

• So you have all of the garden features and furniture you could ever want... but it rains. Some of the furniture may have a canopy you can put over in order make sure your guests stay dry; otherwise we recommend either a gazebo or decked area with a canopy. Again this is practical but also gorgeous at the same time... What more could you want?!

Even if you were to invest in just one of these outdoor feature furniture items, you are well on your way to decadent outdoor living. Now bring on the fine wine, afternoon teas and luscious luxury of the British outdoors.
