13-Year-Old Boy In 'Serious' Condition In Hospital After Classroom Fight

Just weeks into the new school term, and a 13-year-old school boy is in hospital in what has been described as a 'serious but stable' condition after a classroom fight.

The teenager, who has not been named, suffered a serious head injury during a brawl at his school in Nottinghamshire.

The pupil, who is in Year 9, was left with the injury after fighting in lessons just before 10am last Thursday at the National Church of England Academy in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire

A police spokesmen told reporters that a second 13-year-old is helping them with their enquiries, and has been released on bail, whilst officers are working with the school to investigate the circumstances of the altercation.

The injured boy was transferred to Glenfield Hospital in Leicestershire where he is continuing to receive treatment.
