Baker Claims Instagram Suspended Her Account After Mistaking Cake 'For A Boob'

'This is a cake, not a boob.'

When Sue Moseley finished baking an Easter Simnel cake recently she did what all 21st century proud bakers do: she shared a photo of it on Instagram.

But Sue was left shocked when the image sharing site deactivated her account.

According to her daughter Fiona, Sue's account was suspended when the site's automated image monitor mistakingly registered the decorations - which represent Jesus and his disciples - as a nipple.

Thankfully, Instagram has now realised its mistake and reinstated the account.

"It's a religious cake, so couldn't get any further from 'sexually explicit content', and my Mum took a photo of it," Fiona told Indy100 .

"Then, next thing we know, her account has been deactivated for violating Instagram's terms."

Sue's other daughter Jennifer also shared a photo of the cake from another angle on Instagram, along with the caption: "Dear Instagram, this is a cake, not a boob."

Instagram's community guidelines state that it doesn't "allow nudity" on the site.

"This includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks," it says.

"It also includes some photos of female nipples, but photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed. Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too."

A spokesperson for Instagram told The Huffington Post UK: "We made a mistake here and restored the account as soon as we learned about it.

"Our apologies go out to Sue Moseley for the trouble we caused her."
