Chris Pratt might be the hottest property in Hollywood right now, but he still wants his son to stay grounded and mind his manners. Unfortunately, as he explained in a heartwarming interview with Ellen DeGeneres, having such a polite toddler can really backfire.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star could barely contain his pride and excitement as Ellen quizzed him on life as a dad, calling son Jack 'remarkable'.

"It is really very easy to be patient with this kid," Chris said, explaining that Jack is already talking fluently aged two and a half.

However, he admitted that dodging the 'terrible twos' came with its downsides. "It's super frustrating because you'll be like 'All right now, Jack, I think it's time for bed', and he'll say 'I thought about it and no thanks, Dad. Not right now.'

"He's so polite, what am I supposed to do!" he joked.

Chris and his wife, actress Anna Faris, became parents when Jack was born nine weeks early. Weighing just three pounds, he spent his first weeks in a neonatal intensive care unit.

"I played him country music and I sang to him and I made him promises, in that moment, you know, about... just about what kind of dad I wanted to be," Chris recalled in a fundraising speech he gave in December. "I just prayed that he'd be here long enough and he was going to let me keep him."

Chris took the lead in two of 2014's biggest movies - Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie - and this year, you can catch him on dino reboot Jurassic World. But the actor says that you won't be seeing him in much else for now, because his family comes first.

"I don't want my kid to be 10, and I've done 20 movies," he told the Hollywood Reporter last year. "Some people can do that, but I'm going to do only the best stuff or nothing."
