A new dad has posted a heartwarming tribute to his stay-at-home wife who "works her ass off" to look after their baby while he works.
Tony Emms shared the Facebook status alongside a photo of his fiancée Charlotte Sperry fast asleep with their baby on the bed.
He urged other men to truly understand how hard it is for stay-at-home mums, asking them to respect their partners.
"I sometimes don't give this woman the credit she is due, when I come from work she is always 'tired' and it's me who has been at work doing stuff all day, but lately I've been thinking what this amazing woman does while I'm out," Emms started the post.
Emms continued: "Surely she just sits with the baby and watches TV and has a chilled day right?
"No is the answer. When I leave for work she has to spring straight in to action to get up and get her self sorted for the hectic day she has.
"She gets up and baby is kicking off cause he is hungry but so is she. She doesn't eat but baby does... then she sits and plays with him, changes his nappies, then plays again, until he falls asleep.
"Brilliant. Mummy can have a nap. No she doesn't she does the washing, cleans up baby's toys and starts washing the pots from the night before.
"Baby wakes up and is hungry, mummy hasn't had breakfast but she still doesn't eat. She gets baby set for his lunch, after his lunch he then wants attention and plays. Remember mummy still hasn't eaten.
"All the cleaning she done earlier is now time wasted as baby's toys are everywhere."
Emms admitted sometimes he has come home from work and been frustrated that he has to tidy all the toys, complaining that it hasn't been done.
But he's now realised she "works her ass off all day" to make sure the baby is healthy and happy.
Urging other dads to not take their partners for granted, Emms continued: "If any other dads out there feel like me, think about what you've done and what mummy has done.
"Respect the mother of your child. She is a special type of human that has given up everything to bring up your baby.
"I truly love my two sleeping babies and they both deserve their rest."
The post, which Emms shared on 27 January, has been shared nearly 13,000 times.
Both mums and dads have commented on the photo praising Emms for being so honest.
"Well said. Being a stay-at-home mum or dad isn't easy. It's just as demanding as any other job," one mother wrote.
A dad commented: "Too many guys don't give their wonderful partners and mummies true credit. You've brought to the forefront what so many other of us guys should've.
"Some of us need reminding what our ladies do for us and our babies."
