David Tennant has adopted his wife Georgia Moffett's 10-year-old son Tyler.

The former Doctor Who actor said he officially became dad to Tyler shortly after he and Georgia, 27, celebrated the birth of their first child together, Olive.

David broke the news on the Christian O'Connell Absolute Radio breakfast show, saying: "My baby is almost a year old and I adopted my wife's boy last year as well so I became a father twice in six months - that's got to be something of a record, hasn't it?"

Georgia played David's daughter in a 2008 episode of Doctor Who. They married last December.

She is the daughter of former Doctor Who Peter Davison. Her mother is the actress Sandra Dickinson. She became pregnant with son Tyler when she was just 16.
