Diary Of A 6-Year-Old: Early To Bed...

Diary Of A 6-Year-Old: Early To Bed...

Only one more sleep to go!

I'm going to bed early tonight so Christmas comes quicker. I'm definitely not going to sleep though. I will stay awake the whole night and look out of my bedroom window. I am going to see Father Christmas this year.

Last year I fell asleep before he came. He must have been really late because I think I stayed awake until at least 9 O'clock. Last year I got into trouble for opening the window in my bedroom. It was a bit cold but I wanted to listen for the sleigh bells. Dad said I would get poorly but I don't think Father Christmas lets children get sick at Christmas. That's a rule.

We left a mince pie and a glass of grown-up drink for Father Christmas last year and a carrot for Rudolph. I felt a bit bad about that because there are nine remainders. Rudolph is really cute with his nose and the others did laugh at him but I think it's not fair unless they all get one. So this year there are five carrots and four apples, just in case some of them don't like carrots. Or apples. Dad said the grown-up drink should be bigger because Father Christmas would have to sit around for longer waiting for all the remainders to eat. I said he could have more mince pies too but dad didn't seem to think the mince pies were so important.

I'm going to bed now.

Not going to sleep though.
