The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received an impressive traditional welcome ceremony as they touched down in the Solomon Islands for the third stop on their nine-day tour.

As the couple stepped off the plane in the capital, Honiara, a group of warriors carrying spears and instruments performed a dance, and the royal pair were garlanded with frangipani, as they made their way onto a war canoe built on top of a van.

Around 70,000 people turned out to see the couple parade the streets on the canoe, known as a Tomoko - which took two weeks for locals to create for their VIPs.

Kate was pretty in a geometric-print £820 Jonathan Saunders dress, paired with her trusty nude LK Bennett heels, and topped off with a hat by Jane Taylor pinned to her hair.

The couple looked relaxed and happy as they waved their way through the crowds before attending a service at the St Barnabas Cathedral.
