A seven-year-old girl with autism has written a heartbreaking note to let others know the qualities she wants in a friend.
Karen Adams says her daughter Molly-Raine has autism, ADHD and "a few other special needs".
When Molly was asked to write a note for her homework, this is what she came up with.
The note reads: "Wanted: a friend.
"Someone who... anbrstans (understands) me, nos I have atesm (knows I have autism), smiles all the time, cees me comgin wen im sad (sees me coming when I'm sad)."
Mum Karen Adams told ABC News: "When I asked her if she would mind the picture of her work being put online she said she thought it was a good idea because someone might read it and tell their child about autism."
"I'm very proud of her. It takes a lot for Mol to stay on task and write anything and she did this homework independently which is a huge achievement for her."
Mrs Adams said Molly struggles with everyday situations and she just wants other children to understand why.
Adams added that her daughter was only diagnosed with autism in July, and the diagnosis came as a "relief" to Molly as she had wanted to know why she was different.
