Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins has given birth to a baby girl.

The 39-year-old delivered her first child on Sunday (Feb 8), weighing in at 7lb 14oz.

Charlotte's husband of six years, Mark Herbert, told the Mirror: "Mum and baby are doing well."

The couple haven't yet revealed their new daughter's name.

Susanna Reid, who co-hosts the ITV breakfast show with Charlotte, was quick to take to Twitter and send her best wishes to the new mum.

The former Strictly star wrote: "Congratulations to our beautiful Charlotte Hawkins who's given birth to a mini-Charlotte."

Lorraine Kelly also joined in the congratulations, tweeting: "Big congrats lovely you will be an amazing mum. Can't wait to meet the wee one."

While the show's resident doctor Hilary Jones added: "Congratulations on the safe arrival of a baby girl, wonderful news."

Charlotte confirmed her pregnancy with viewers on the show last August.

She took to Twitter to say: "I'm delighted to announce some breaking news of my own on this morning - I'm pregnant!

"Big thanks for all the lovely messages."

In November she revealed she was considering having IVF treatment, but then discovered she was expecting.

The former Sky presenter added: "It took a long while for it to sink in I was pregnant because we'd been trying for quite some time."

Charlotte admitted that keeping her pregnancy a secret from her co-hosts was a struggle as she feared her cravings for biscuits and chocolates would give her away!
