When Holly Willoughby announced she and husband Dan Baldwin had named their newborn son Chester William, we knew it wouldn't be long before Katie Hopkins weighed in with her opinion.

Within minutes of Holly announcing her happy news last night (Monday, September 29) rent-a-gob Katie felt compelled to tweet:

"Holly & Dan clearly had sex 9 months ago in Chester. Funny thing is, I am known for having sex in a field. Between us we have a classic sofa"

Holly has so far kept a dignified silence over the comment, however she has previously made her thoughts on Katie's baby name snobbery very clear.

When Katie appeared on This Morning in 2013, she managed to get under the usually-unflappable presenter's skin, by declaring that she would prevent her children from playing with kids with 'lower class' names such as Charmaine, Chantelle, Chardonnay and Tyler.

"A name, for me, is a short way of working out what class that child comes from," Katie, whose children are called India, Poppy and Maximillian William, told Holly and Phillip Schofield.

"It's not just class...There's a whole set of things that go with children like that. They are quite a disruptive influence at school. That's why I don't like those sort of children."

Holly visibly bristled at the remarks and at one point she and Katie began speaking over each other, forcing Phil to intervene saying loudly: "Stop, stop stop!"

Holly apologised for losing her cool: "I'm sorry, I just can't help but get involved."

To clarify, Chester does not mean sofa. The name, like many first names, began as a surname, and means 'camp of soldiers'.

It originally denoted a person from the town of Chester.
