On our third night in New York, we moved hotels again and were staying at Hotel Chandler, which was based on E 31st Street. It might have been annoying for some, but was exciting to get to stay in a different hotel every night and quite fun staying in different parts of Manhattan.

Hotel Chandler, which was another Small Luxury Hotel of the World, was situated in a great spot right near the Empire State Building, which we decided to visit the following morning since we were so close by and were up the top without having to queue at 9am!

On arrival at Hotel Chandler, we were impressed by the reception as we entered which was decorated with dark brown wood, warm oranges and pleasant greens with comfortable armchairs and it had a very homely feel about it that immediately felt cosy and relaxing. There was a huge spiral staircase next to the lift area that you could look the whole way up, or down from if you were on the top floor, and it was a nice feature of the reception.

There was a library lounge area off the reception which had a fireplace and lots of books and interesting objects across two large book shelves, big sofas adorned with cushions and cool lighting. Next door, there was a more formal working area with tables and hard back chairs aswell as some sofas and cosy armchairs.

We were given a Premium Guest Room which was a good sized room with a separate lounge area with a sofa and desk and the bedroom off to the side, with a glass panel separating the two parts of the room. The bed was king size with crisp white bedding and a TV opposite, along with the one in the lounge area. The bathroom had a double-wide shower with rainfall showerhead and as with The Iroquis, had complimentary Molten Brown toiletries.

Since it was New York Fashion Week during our stay, we were also left a complimentary gift of two fashion themed nail varnishes in a little gift bag, and it was a lovely treat to receive on arrival!

After settling into our room, we decided to go to the Soho, Little Italy, Greenwich area for a wander. We spent the whole day there walking both there and back and once we arrived back to the hotel about 7pm, we were absolutely exhausted!

We were desperate for a seat and thought it was time for an early evening drink so decided to visit the hotel bar for a drink. I had a nice cold glass of white wine and Steve enjoyed a beer but we saw the barman making cocktails for other guests sat at the bar and they all looked great.

We had planned to go out for dinner, and there was a great concierge in the hotel's reception who gave us some tips of where we could go, but we were so tired (I think the jet lag had finally hit us!) so instead we tucked ourselves up in our comfortable big bed and watched Dirty Dancing which was showing on the TV!

After a good night's sleep, we were up early and before our visit to the Empire State Building, we enjoyed a complimentary coffee from reception, which we were able to take with us in the paper cups they supplied.

Hotel Chandler is a lovely boutique hotel that is decorated in a way that you feel you are a home away from home and we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
