It is a matter of public record that Hugh Grant is fed up with the tabloid press. 'Hacked Off' with them, is what he is – a phrase which just happens to be the name of the media regulation pressure group for which he is a director. Even his Twitter handle is @HackedOffHugh.

Then, just as you were wondering what he is so hacked off about, along comes another tabloid 'exclusive' claiming to delve into his deepest private secrets by 'revealing' he has fathered a THIRD 'love child' (that famous tabloid phrase).

According to The Sun newspaper – and subsequently repeated by more than 50 online news sources - Swedish TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein had the 53-year-old actor's son in September 2012.

However, the news of the child only came to light after Hugh's name was added to the child's birth certificate - which is a publicly available document.

The Sun said details for the father were kept blank when the birth was registered.

But the baby was re-registered in December giving the dad's name as Hugh John Mungo Grant.

The actor's son Felix – his second child with girlfriend Tinglan Hong, 33 – was born three months later in February 2013.

A source told the newspaper: "It's an unusual arrangement. Anna is being supported by Hugh all the way. She lives in a very comfortable property in West London and knows Hugh is there for her."

Hugh first became a father when daughter Tabitha Xiao Xi was born in September 2011 to Tinglan.

In a break from his usual close-guardedness, he announced the birth of his son on Twitter in February last year, saying: "Am thrilled my daughter now has a brother. Adore them both. They have a fab mum."

Thus far, Hugh hasn't commented on the 'third child' reports, so one can only guess whether he is Hacked Off or chuffed to bits at the newspaper revelations.
