Barber Goes Above And Beyond To Cut Boy With Autism's Hair After Months Of Unsuccessful Attempts

A barber pulled out all the stops to find a way to cut a young boy with autism's hair, and the outcome was brilliant.

James Williams, from Wales, has been trying for the past month to find a way to cut Mason's hair that he's comfortable with.

Mason was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) a few months ago, and previously would run away from Williams if the scissors came near his ears.

But the barber wouldn't stop until he found a solution. And he did, by laying on the floor.

Williams posted the photos of the successful haircut on Facebook, and thanked Mason's parents for allowing him to share the story.

"The extremes you need to achieve when your cutting hair is amazing even having to go down to a child's level literally," he wrote.

"Over last few months I have been attempting to find different ways how to cut Mason's hair, but he would run away on times if he wasn't up to it.

"Today I finally achieved it where we both laid on the floor in silence and he allowed me to cut away and give him his first proper haircut.

"I love making both parents happy by giving extra attention to Mason by building friendship and trust.

"What gave the finishing touch is I asked for a high 5 and he hugged me. True barber love!"

The three photos Williams' posted showed Mason lying on the floor and playing on his phone, looking completely unfazed by the situation.

Williams was shocked when people began to pick up on the story and said he was "stunned" the impact his post has had on so many people.

"Words can't describe it," he wrote. "I really want to get behind this, outside of my work and try to help familiess who suffer with ASD.

"I want to support AND help I hope I can make this happen!"
