Despite constant stories about them wanting to have a normal life and upbringing for Prince George, William and Kate are said to be considering hiring a childcare provider – but it won't be just ANY old au pair...

The Mail reports that William is very keen to enlist the services of his former nanny – the now-71-year-old Jessica Webb.

Jessica is credited with shielding the young William and Harry 'from the screaming rows of their parents', the paper claims, and is now considering coming out of retirement to care for baby George.

Princess Diana is said to have hired Jessica against Prince Charles' wishes, as he wanted an 'old school royal appointee'.

During her time with the family, William was apparently her favourite charge, and he now reportedly longs to 'recreate the feeling of security she gave him in his childhood'.

Jessica looked after William from when he was just seven, and kept up her Royal connections by going on to care for Viscount Linley's children, Charles and Margarita.

She and William have kept in touch in the intervening years, and Jessica was a proud guest at his 21st birthday party and the Royal wedding.

A royal mole explained to the Sunday People why 'Jessie' would be 'ideal' for the role.

"Everyone likes her," the source said. "She's discreet and she's of an age when she's not going to have her picture in the paper every five minutes."

Jessica's potential appointment comes as the the Mail reports that Kate, 31, has been advised she will 'become exhausted by combining motherhood with her future royal duties'.
