We know that former Apprentice rent-a-gob Katie Hopkins can come across as a bit of a witch – but does she really deserve to be burnt at the stake?
Well, it would seem so. For her critics have deemed the outspoken mum-of-three to be so offensive they have built a 30ft effigy of her and are planning to set it alight on Bonfire Night.
The enormous figure has been stuffed with oil-soaked newspapers and fireworks and is now ready and waiting to be torched when the, er, festivities begin.
Mouth-almighty Katie was an obvious choice for this year's celebrity guy at the Edenbridge bonfire in Kent after a series of attacks on parents, including urging them to confront their overweight children and revealing she would not let her daughter play with children whose names she disapproved of.
Society coordinator Charles Laver said: "We were looking for someone who was in the news, and she was one of the people around in the media at the moment.
"Of course, she has come out with silly remarks, so we thought why not? On Tuesday last week, we were sitting around thinking who were we going to do.
"We had to come up with someone, so we thought about Katie."
