The UK's first speciality cereal cafe, and possibly the most hipster joint in existence, is also home to some of London's most extravagent hot chocolates.

Stacked high with sugary treats, whipped cream and lashings of sauce, these mega mugs of chocolate heaven are truly a sight to behold. The best part? There are countless mix and max options to tickle your tastebuds.

Choose from regular, Nutella (pictured), peanut butter or salted caramel. Or create your own flavour combination with premimum flavoured milks like white chocolate, blood orange or banana. Worth a trip purely for the fun factor.

The Hyatt Regency's sumptuous bar has once again undergone its annual winter makeover, transforming into a Narnia inspired hideaway just seconds away from Oxford Street.

Their 'Winter Warmers' cocktail list, curated by Green & Black’s, is a chocolate connoisseur’s dream come true.

Adventurous palettes will love The White Witch - a white hot chocolate infused with ginger, chilli and Woodford reserve Bourbon.

Sink into the lavish fur-lined seats and relax in a winter wonderland of luxury - with hot water bottles and blankets available on request. Nowhere does cold weather glamour quite like it.

Mud(04 of07)

Mud goes for quality over quantity with their hot chocolates - but that's a decision that has definitely paid off.

The drink is milky and quite rich yet the amount means it's not sickly - just the perfect treat. It's served in an 8oz glass, so it's a drink you want to saviour and take in the taste rather than chuck it down to keep you warm.

They use West Coast Cocoa which has cocoa powder and notes of dried fruit, which contributes to the rich yet slightly different flavour. It's definitely not one of those watery hot chocolates! It's topped with frothy cream in a pattern. Yum.

Their hot cocoa is unsurprisingly terrific and they have a huge variety on offer.

Die-hard chocolate fans need to try the hot chocolate available to take away at all three Paul A Young stores.

Paul's hot chocolate is made using water rather than milk so that the flavours and richness of the chocolate shine through on the palate.

He melts chocolate and cocoa powder into the water to create a really indulgent drink. Each store has a selection of spices for the customer to choose from to blend into their drink such as cardamom, chilli, black pepper and ginger.

If you're a non-coffee-drinker surrounded by coffee-drinking friends, head down to Shoreditch Grind.

Yes, we realise this sounds counterintuitive, but the coffee specialists also serve a marvellously light hot chocolate. It's simple, but it's oh so effective.

Everyone's a winner.
