"Despite the trendy white-washed walls, high ceilings and concrete floor, the Jones & Sons atmosphere is more akin to a snug friends' dining room than a trendy restaurant a few paces from Dalston's Kingsland Road," says Brogan Driscoll, Assistant Editor, HuffPost UK Lifestyle.

"Try the pork belly or sirloin washed down with a large glass of Merlot. The scallop, parsnip and grapefruit starter is delicious, but ordering it - bearing in mind the roast's chunky cuts of meat and generous portion of gravy-soaked potatoes - may be slightly ambitious, even for the ravenous."

"The perfect antidote to the inevitable post-Saturday night hangover, you can sit in Jones & Sons for hours, leaving full, content and ready to take on Monday."

If you like meat, you'll love the Sunday roast at Blacklock.

The 'All In' is a mixed roast of three meats: Longhorn beef fore-rib, Cornish lamb leg and Middlewhite Pork loin. And it is not for the faint-hearted.

Served with mammouth Yorkshire puddings, duck fat-roasted potatoes and a choice of sumptuous sides including smooth and fluffy cauliflower cheese. If you're feeling particularly hungry try the divine wood-roasted scallops with black pudding.

The underground venue used to be a brothel (there's some trivia for you) and many tables are communal depending on party size and availability.

"A beautiful homely pub with a roast dinner to die for, it's no wonder The Albion is packed to the rafters every Sunday,"says Poorna Bell, Lifestyle editor.

"Try and get a big enough group together to try their whole roast suckling pig with trimmings (although they don't serve it on a Sunday). £350 might seem a bit steep, but split that between enough of you and it's worth it."

"A gastro pub of two halves: traditional boozer at the front, very decent restaurant with a modern twist at the back," says Celebrity editor Matt Bagwell.

"Wherever you live in London, the Sunday roast is worth a trek: duck fat roasties, honey-glazed root veg and lots of proper gravy. The rare breed Dexter beef is stunning - plus you get lots of it too, and all for less than fifteen quid."

Set in a beautiful four-story townhouse, the decor is rich and eclectic. Take a seat on the rooftop (which is covered, with heaters, making it British weather-proof) or on one of the cosy armchairs upstairs.

The generous portions are served on rustic wooden boards, which only adds to the charm.

The cider farm pork belly is not to be missed. Rolled with garlic and sage, brined for 48 hours and braised for eight hours, the meat is juicy and the cracking is just as it should be.

Roasts are served with giant homemade Yorkshire puddings, seasonal root vegetables, greens and crispy roast potatoes. Wash it down with a Bloody Mary, you could even get bottomless ones.

"Bistro Union has lovely high ceilings and chunky wooden furniture, flanked by a handsome bar," says Poorna Bell, Lifestyle editor.

"The stand-out dish for me however is the chicken roast, which has to be shared by two people. When it arrives, you'll see why."

She explains: "The dish sits on its bum, surrounded by bread sauce and yummy veg. It's poached and then oven-cooked so the meat is moist. If you're extra hungry do order the chips - they are fat, fluffy things."

Caoimhe O'Reilly consumer marketing manager says: "This is a small unassuming pub with amazing food and a great atmosphere. I'd recommend booking in advance as many punters wander in after working up an appetite walking around the Hampstead Heath."

"Try the Sunday roast sharing options like wing of beef and chicken - perfect for a cold winter afternoon."

"Hawkmoor on the Seven Dials in Covent Garden is AMAZING," says Celebrity reporter Ashley Percival "The restaurant is famous for its steak, so their roast beef is to die for."

He adds: "It's a bit of a celeb haunt so is a bit on the pricer side, but it is worth every penny."

"Joints of beef, roast chicken, pork and crackling or steak - which seems wonderfully decadent for a pub roast - paired with tyre-sized yorkshire puds, thyme-scented parsnips and red cabbage, makes this the BEST EVER roast dinner," says Jess Elgot, deputy news editor.

"And for vegetarians, the nut roast is hearty, stuffed full of different varieties and fruits, and feels, you know, like it's been treated as a proper bit of food rather than a substitute."

"It's reasonably priced for London - between £12.50 and £9.95 for a roast, with kids portions for a fiver."

"Vegetarians and Sunday lunch aren’t generally a happy mix," says Trisha Doyle, AOL Money editor. "While your companions tuck into plates of appropriate Sunday fare, you’re stuck with a plate of risotto."

"But fear not fellow veggies, your salvation is tucked away in North London, just off the Holloway Road."
"The Landseer offers up a big plate of food – polenta as a meat alternative, veggies, roasties, a Yorkshire pud and vegetarian gravy to boot. Big comfy couches and lots of Sunday papers make this place a worthy weekend spot."
