Mick Jagger has become a great grandfather at the age of 70.

The Rolling Stones' singer's granddaughter Assisi Jagger, 21, gave birth to a baby girl at the weekend.

The baby, whose name has not yet been announced, is Assisi and her chef boyfriend Alex Key's first child.

Mick already has seven children and four grandchildren, but Assisi's daughter is his first great-grandchild.

However, it's unlikely that Assisi's daughter will call Sir Mick Great-Granddad. Talking to Hello! magazine about Mick's reaction to her pregnancy news the young mum said:

"I imagine it's nice to be a great-grandad – although I'm not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one.

"I call him Mick – I wouldn't start calling him Grandpa."

Assisi's daughter won't be the youngest member of the family for long, as her grandmother, Jade, is expected to give birth to her own child in the next few weeks.

Mick's children come from four relationships; He had daughter Karis, 43, with Marsha Hunt, followed by Assisi's mum Jade, 42, with former model Bianca Jagger. With model Jerry Hall, he has Elizabeth, 29, James, 28, Georgia, 21, and Gabriel, 16, as well as son Lucas, 14, with Brazilian TV presenter Luciana Gimenez.

It's likely that we will have to wait a while before seeing the latest addition to the Jagger clan, as it's thought that proud grandmother Jade has arranged a picture deal with a magazine.
