Former EastEnders actress and new mum, Natalie Cassidy, has critisised her old bosses for the recent cot death storyline which saw Ronnie Branning - played by Sam Womack - swap her dead baby James for Kat Moon's newborn son Tommy.

Natalie, 27, who reprised her role as Sonia Jackson for a handful of episodes last year, accused the show of 'poor attention to detail'.

Speaking to New! magazine, Natalie said:

'The cot death storyline in EastEnders has stirred up a lot of emotion. I think the attention to detail was poor - Ronnie walking around hours after giving birth. Also, mums are advised to keep babies in a Moses basket until they're six months and you wouldn't leave a newborn on the bed like Ronnie did. That said the acting has been sensational.'

Natalie also sympathised with Sam Womack's decision to quit the show:

'I know how it feels to have big story lines take up your time and energy, so maybe it's her time. I'm sure she'll continue to have a great career. I wish her lots of luck.'

Natalie gave birth to her first child, a girl called Eliza, in September last year.
