Neutrinos with the Euclid Space Telescope

Euclid is a space telescope planned for launch in 2020 by the European Space Agency, and will make a map of the distribution of billions of galaxies in the Universe. This will make it possible to map the history and evolution of the dark Universe, which is the name given to describe everything we do not understand about the Universe.

Euclid is a space telescope planned for launch in 2020 by the European Space Agency, and will make a map of the distribution of billions of galaxies in the Universe. This will make it possible to map the history and evolution of the dark Universe, which is the name given to describe everything we do not understand about the Universe: the mysterious dark energy that drives the Universes acceleration, and dark matter, an exotic form of matter required to explain how galaxies rotate.

Euclid can also learn about neutrinos, an elusive particle that particle physicists are also studying in great detail. In this video, I interviewed Prof. Licia Verde (ICREA & ICC/Barcelona & CERN) and Prof. Julien Lesgourgues (EPFL & CERN) to discuss why the neutrino is such an interesting particle and how Euclid can help us learn about it.
