It's official: 'hottest women' lists have had their day. (Well, kind of.)

Since as long as we can remember, traditional lads mags have released annual 'sexiest women' lists where they rate women on account of their looks.

But one men's publication, influenced presumably by the rise of feminism, is doing away with objectification by celebrating women based their achievements over appearance.

AskMen has released its first 'Top 99 Outstanding Women' list featuring kick-ass women who are pioneering in their fields.

“This year's list is not only a reflection of a shift in the media, but also a shift in modern male thinking,” said publisher James Bassil in a statement. “We wanted to steer away from ‘hot’ lists and highlight women who have demonstrated a sheer influence in their industry.

"We were looking for women who are doing something new this year, something that demonstrates their versatility and raw talent.”

From incredible athletes to Oscar winners, successful entrepreneurs to thought leaders, AskMen's list celebrates women for their success over sex appeal - and we can't get enough.
