A woman whose neighbours left an angry note claiming her garden was 'relentlessly gay' has kicked back in the best possible way.

Julie Baker from Baltimore received a letter about a string of rainbow lights she has in her garden. The 'concerned neighbour' wrote: "Your yard is becoming relentlessly gay. Myself and others in the neighbourhood ask that you tone it down.

"This is a Christian area and there are children. Keep it up and I will be forced to call the police on you! Your kind need to have respect for GOD."

Baker refused to back down to her neighbours request, and has started a crowdfunding campaign to make her garden even more 'relentlessly gay'.

She wrote on her Go Fund Me page: "I opened my door, and found a note from my neighbour. Regarding a set of rainbow jar solar lights hanging in my yard.

"Needless to say... I need more rainbows... Many, many more rainbows… So, I am starting this fundraiser so I can work to make my home even more 'relentlessly gay'.

"Put simply, I am a widow and the mother of four children and I WILL NOT relent to hatred. Instead, I will battle it with beauty and laughter and love, wrapped around my home, yard and family!"

The project has raised nearly £8,000, with one contributor commenting: "I don't live nearby at all, but I love your response to this. I see your true colours, shining through! If I was close, I'd volunteer my kids and myself to help make your place as relentlessly gay as possible. Love thy neighbour!"

Suggestions for how to make the garden that little more more 'gay' include a motion sensor that plays 'It's Raining Men' and a rainbow unicorn fountain. There's also high demand for a line of 'relentlessly gay' t-shirts.
