A 17-year-old girl was left fighting for life in hospital after a rare reaction to a heartburn pill made her face and body erupt into tennis-ball sized blisters.

Teenager Leanne Howes was given just a 10225Ct22_blank" target="_blank">said: "I thought I was going to die - I looked like a monster from a horror film."

Dermatology consultant Dr Clive Grattan of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital said: "Stevens-Johnson is extremely rare - around one in a million get this reaction."
