The Duke of Cambridge has spoken about the birth of Prince George with President Obama as part of the royal tour of New York.

Yes, in an epic showdown of embarrassing dads, William and Barack took a (rather uncomfortable looking) seat in the Oval office to do dad chat. Chatting away, and mimicking each other's body language like the media pros they both are, William spoke about becoming a dad for the first time when Prince George was born.

Laughing away (terribly naturally, natch), William told Obama he was so excited about the birth of George, he forgot to ask whether he had a son or a daughter.

"Last time, when George was born, I actually forgot to work out if it was a boy or a girl," he told the President. "The excitement of the event is such chaos, I had to actually go 'OK, it's a boy'.'"

He also spoke of his excitement about becoming a dad for the second time, when Kate gives birth in April next year, saying the baby's gender will be another surprise for the big day.

Hopefully Obama was passing on his best dad jokes to William. Given how well they went down with teenagers Malia and Sasha, George is in for a treat when he's old enough to understand!

William and Kate are in New York for a two day tour, but have left Prince George at home.

While William was chilling in the Oval office, Kate was meeting children at the Northside Centre in Harlem.

Royal reporters at the scene are at pains to point out that five months pregnant Kate chose a £680 coat from designer Goat (actual brand name) for the outing.

And we're sure the kids she met really appreciated it...
