The list of who's who in fashion includes the most ground-breaking designers, models, photographers, editors and stylists, from Coco Chanel to Anna Wintour.

However, this isn't a popularity contest. Lesser known names such as Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, sits alongside Manolo Blahnik and Christian Dior, while Beverly Johnson - the first black model to appear on the cover of Vogue, is listed with Kate Moss and Heidi Klum in the models category.

As for the muses, The Beatles, David Bowie and James Dean join Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly in the superstar ranking.
