A referee fought with parents at an under-11s football match when he was allegedly called a cheat.

Glyn Dixon, 34, has been banned from all games for at least three years following the incident that led to the match being abandoned.

At an FA hearing, Dixon, of Woodbridge, Suffolk, was fined £150 after admitting improper and violent conduct and using threatening and abusive language.

Suffolk FA chief executive Laura Smith said: "What makes this incident worse is that this was a children's game, where adults should be setting the right example.

"The sanctions highlight that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated in our county. We hope that this acts as an example to others as to the consequences of their actions."
