A new dance class for young children is causing controversy - by offering pole dancing lessons for kids as young as FIVE.

The Little Spinners class in Canada offers pole dancing lessons for children - girls and boys - for $70.

While the class - which currently has four pupils but is hoping to expand - is making headlines around the world for all the wrong reasons, studio owner and instructor Kristy Craig says she is simply catering to her adult clients' demands.

She told the National Post: "My existing students were asking about it for their children. They were saying, 'My daughter plays on my pole at home all the time, I'd love her to actually learn how to do things property and not hurt herself.'

"I treat it just like gymnastic classes. I don't teach any of the adult moves."

While Kirsty claims there is 'nothing sexual' about the class, and that it is just for fitness, as one pundit tells the news video report above, "If you have to say it's not sexual, then it's sexual!"
