The days of new mums consulting their own parents for advice on bringing up baby are numbered, according to new research. Instead of asking granny for guidance, today's parents are turning to the internet first.

Eight out of 10 of over a thousand new mums surveyed by Growingupmilkinfo.com said they go online, whereas only 44) to rely on the internet for support and advice. However, the social network savvy under 25s were the biggest Facebook users for parenting queries (15 national average).
