As a multimedia journalist, Ayesha’s favourite kinds of stories are about people and human experiences. She has covered stories from the remembrance of Grenfell Tower victims at Notting Hill Carnival to how a group of boatmen of different faiths live and work together by the river in Kolkata. Ayesha has been a political reporter in Washington DC, a business editor in Dubai and a travel writer in Mumbai. In 2017, she spent three months volunteering as an English and science teacher for primary and middle school classes at a remote, rural school in the Himalayas. Most recently, she published a podcast called The Ilm with Ayesha Aleem, where she interviewed 24 women from around the world to explore subjects like motherhood, love, their bodies and managing money and a career. Originally from Bangalore, India, Ayesha holds a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University.
